Events
There are many cultural and traditional events and festivals held during the summer in the Trasimeno area: Umbria Jazz, Europe's biggest jazz festival, held in Perugia from 10 to 19 July, and Trasimeno Blues, a series of wonderful blues concerts held in the most attractive little towns around the lake.
In Passignano itself: the "Palio delle barche", a unique, spectacular boat race ranked as one of Umbria's four top events, and the wonderful "notte bianca" in August when the whole town keeps partying through the night.
The young musicians' Festival and the "festa dei barbari", pirate festival, held in nearby Castel Rigone are also worthy of mention.
